NEW Etsy Shop for The Pink Locket
Take Me Out Necklace
This past weekend was spent “pimping” out my Etsy Shop. When I started my Etsy Store a year ago, there were things that I wanted to incorporate into it, but wasn’t sure what exactly. After weeks of brainstorming I came up with the “Modern but Classic theme” and incorporated black, pink and white into it. I thought this theme would be very fitting for the “Redefining Pink” tagline. I spent a lot time choosing backgrounds and finally came up with a 3 prop background that consisted of a modern white china cup that I got as a wedding gift, bamboo chopsticks and black paper with silver writing and pink paper with varying shades of pink geometric squares.

Carefully using Google Keyword search to help with optimizing my store with keywords, I updated my descriptions, tags and shop titles. Then it was off to photograph my jewelry items. After hours of shooting in our special Pink Locket studio, my Shih Tzu Chloe gave me the peace signs with her paws and propped up some old clothes and decided to take a nap–so much for pulling an all nighter with me…I pulled out a bottle of merlot, poured a glass and it was back to work.

Take a look a the finished product. I have to say that I’m glad I put in the time and effort into really make my Etsy store look the way I want it to. Now lets see how the holiday sales go….the real test I suppose. Next goal to accomplish—-website re-design. Of course we’re taking it one step at a time.

Digital Fashionista
We hear other women say all the time, “I can’t live without my blackberry,” or
“Damn—I forgot my cell phone at home—what am I going to do.” Fashionista have become so equipped and dependent upon cell phones, PDAs, iPhones and etc; I was surfing on my Touch the other day and downloaded an application from Lucky! magazine that I thought was so useful and ingenious. This application allows the fellow fashionista to surf the picture archives of the many accessories, apparel and shoes that is featured in the current issue of Lucky! magazine and gives the location, price and availability of the product. You can even reserve the merchandise and just pick up at the store. I was even able to make a purchase right on my Touch. Digital devices just make it so convenient for one to get what they want when they want.
Even Sony unveiled the cute and clever “clutch,” which I thought was a clever idea indeed. In fact if I didn’t have a Mac I probably would have broken down and purchased one just because of its cuteness. Adding the cherry to the top of the sundae, Sony stores nationwide sent out a e-letter to fellow fashionistas invited them to their stores for a “Girls Night Out,” to test out the little clutch device. Also if you haven’t seen Vivienne Tam’s clutch design from HP, it’s also definitely a plus.
Let’s also not forget about social networking sites like Twitter which is also a trend among the digitally savvy fashionista. My newest fix however is stylehive.com.

What to Look Forward to from The Pink Locket
We have so many different ideas for this divine 2009. This year we will really focus on building and positioning The Pink Locket brand and continue to design creative jewelry pieces. You will be in for various surprises. In addition to new jewelry collections, we will officially launch “The Pink Clutch” line of handbag clutches. We’ve connected ourselves with fabulous fabric vendors, so just stayed tuned trust me you’ll be excited. Here are a few of our estimated launch dates:
