Minimalistic Style, My Inspiration Behind My New Collection

Although my jewelry style is minimalistic, I was just telling a friend of mine the other day that coming up with jewelry designs can be challenging at times when I’m not in the right frame of mind.  Many people ask where I get my inspiration from and to be honest there’s no one answer.  If I had to narrow it down though I would definitely say I’m very inspired by other women’s personal style. There’s nothing more inspiring than seeing a woman wearing something in a completely different way than it was intended for.  I think that’s why I love doing custom designs because it gives the customer a chance to help create something they have a vision for.  One thing I do miss about living in NYC is walking down the street admiring the different street styles, the personal touches to one’s outfit, not to mention the “IDAF” I’m going to wear this however I want because that’s how I like it mentality, lol.

Many of the jewelry pieces I create are quite versatile and I do that on purpose because I believe that accessories definitely make the look more complete. Minimalistic style jewelry can be eye catching and simple and that it can transition from outfit to outfit.  This is the main reason I work with metals.

For this collection I drew inspiration from the architecture of buildings and bridges.  Have you ever just stopped and looked at the shapes and beauty of an actual building or bridge?  I was particularly intrigued by the arches of bridges, which is where I drew most of my inspiration from.  There’s just something completely amazing about the creation of these beauties.
