Gucci’s creative director, Frida Giannini, has created the most stunning limited edition watch for Mary J Blige and Steve Stoute’s Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN).  A percentage from a day’s sale of this all black chrome and black diamond watch will be donated the Mary’s foundation which helps women who have complex backgrounds build their self-esteem and confidence.  This Twirl watch retails at $1,895 and can be purchased at Gucci’s flagship store on 5^th Avenue in NYC, as well as, specialty stores and select department stores on September 16^th.

Jewelry Feature of the Week: Melon Jewels

Wanting to create something that stands out this fall, this is my first attempt at creating a bib necklace.  This is just a taste of what’s to come for the fall collection which will be debuting in the next coming weeks.  Using multi strands of sage ribbon this necklace is adorned with a chocolate brown flower with sage tulle.  Earth tone colored glass beads dangle and acrylic gemstones finish off the look.  For only $32  this is strictly for a glamour girl who’s ready for her glamour shot.  Check it out at The Pink Locket Etsy Store

Trip Back Home

Well this past weekend I got to see my beloved baby niece for the first time and what can I say other than she is truly the cutest little person ever.  She’s soo giggly and cute that it makes you want to just pinch her chubby little cheeks.  Check out the Miss Diva:

I also attended my aunt’s wedding and got to see my sisters from Cali.  Lets just say I think we all looked pretty hot and fabulous at the wedding.  There is an element of fun in getting all dolled up with some place to go.

Etsy Store of the Week: Lilcubby

I’m on the hunt to find the cutest silver booties for my adorable little niece.  Of course I went to one of my favorite sites in the world, “Etsy” to find the most darling little booties.  I came across Lilcubby and not only did they have cute booties, but neat little onesies.  Check out some of their crafty merchandise.

My pick for the “Etsy Store of the Week,” is Isla Luna.  Based out of New York City this college graduate is really in it for the long haul with her amazingly cute designs.  One of my favorite items in her Etsy Store is the pictured Stephanie sweater.  I particularly love the gold toned punk studs along the edge of the sweater.  The sweater is available in various colors.  She also has really adorning skirts.  Check out her store, Isla Luna.

DIY by Urban Outfitters-How Cool is that?

I remember when I was about 10 years old I created paper clip earrings with ordinary silver paper clips and ear wire from odd earrings.  It’s amazing the things that one comes up with as a child.  It really doesn’t take very many tools to be creative, you just need that mindset that will allow you to go beyond normality.

 

As I was doing my weekly browse through of course one of my favorite stores, Urban Outfitters, I came across a DIY section.  Zeroing in on a tantalizing washer and pink ribbon necklace by a German-born American textile artist, Anni Albers, I realized that the piece was remarkably catching.  This DIY kit includes all of the materials you need to re-create this masterpiece using very basic materials such as washers and ribbon.  In addition, sales from this kit go to supporting the Albers Foundation, a resource for artists and student and preservation of the art by Anni and Josef Albers.  Check it out on Urban Outfitters.
