I met these two fellow Etsians at an arts and craft show this past weekend in Atlanta. I stopped by their booth and I thought they had the most creative and distinctive accessories and jewelry. All of their items were created from recycled objects, things that we overlook everyday believing that paper and plastic are “materials deserving of a more permanent existence.” This former sculptor and folk artist are definitely on the upcoming. This week’s Jewelry Feature of the Week are “Dreaming Antique” earrings. These dark copper earrings give off an antique look. Dangling a little larger than a paperclip, these multi-colored glass beads (bronze, blue, violet, topaz and gold)are a perfect accessory for the summer because they go with virtually anything. Movie Fashion

These are just some of my favorite accessory items from movies that I’ve watched over the years. Enjoy!
Flashdance
Although I was only 3 years old when the movie came out I still remember admiring Jennifer Beals’ red pumps.
Purple Rain
Apollonia was one of the many fashion icons, in my opinion, in this movie. What I loved about her look were her studded necklaces and bangles. Let’s not forget the one hoop earring and stud in the other ear.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
I think just about everyone admired Audrey Hepburn’s look. I know I definitely admired her chunky pearl and diamond necklace.
Sex in the City
Even though the movie came out last year, I’m still loving Sarah Jessica Parker’s stiletto heeled gladiator sandals.
Devil Wears Prada
Who can forget the many “oooh I like that and that and that…” from watching this movie. One of the many fashion accessories that I liked in the movie was the pearl multi strand necklace.

Digital Fashionista
May 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment
We hear other women say all the time, “I can’t live without my blackberry,” or
“Damn—I forgot my cell phone at home—what am I going to do.” Fashionista have become so equipped and dependent upon cell phones, PDAs, iPhones and etc; I was surfing on my Touch the other day and downloaded an application from Lucky! magazine that I thought was so useful and ingenious. This application allows the fellow fashionista to surf the picture archives of the many accessories, apparel and shoes that is featured in the current issue of Lucky! magazine and gives the location, price and availability of the product. You can even reserve the merchandise and just pick up at the store. I was even able to make a purchase right on my Touch. Digital devices just make it so convenient for one to get what they want when they want.
Even Sony unveiled the cute and clever “clutch,” which I thought was a clever idea indeed. In fact if I didn’t have a Mac I probably would have broken down and purchased one just because of its cuteness. Adding the cherry to the top of the sundae, Sony stores nationwide sent out a e-letter to fellow fashionistas invited them to their stores for a “Girls Night Out,” to test out the little clutch device. Also if you haven’t seen Vivienne Tam’s clutch design from HP, it’s also definitely a plus.
Let’s also not forget about social networking sites like Twitter which is also a trend among the digitally savvy fashionista. My newest fix however is stylehive.com.
